Straker offer a full range of Shado CMS courses including custom training to suit your organization's needs. Please note that a minimum number of participants are required for a course to proceed.

Shado CMS Developer Training (2 day)

2008 Training Schedule: 21-22 Feb 2008 (thur-fri), 22-23 May 2008 (thur-fri), 14-15 Aug 2008 (thur-fri), 13-14 Nov 2008 (thur-fri).

Shado CMS developer training is a hands-on course where participants will have the opportunity to implement Shado CMS in a controlled environment. Step-by-step guidance will be provided and developers will learn tips and tricks to Shado CMS implementation.

The 1st day of the course will focus solely upon ColdFusion development providing a quick-start introduction. Developers already familiar with ColdFusion are able to start the course on day 2 at a reduced price.

Topics include:

  • Installing and administering Shado CMS
  • Understanding Shado CMS architecture and interface
  • Creating and applying templates
  • Developing navigation elements - breadcrumbs, DHTML menus
  • Administering Users and User Groups
  • Working with the File Management System
  • Creating applications with Shado CMS Object Framework

The Tutor

Senior Shado CMS developer and course presenter Indy Nagpal has conducted training on different versions of ColdFusion since 1999 and is Adobe certified to teach Fast Track and Advanced ColdFusion courses. Indy was formerly a teacher of web programming at Humber College, Toronto and has conducted numerous training events for Straker Interactive.

Shado CMS Editor Training (1 day)

Shado CMS Editor Training offers a 1 day course designed to bring first-time users up to speed with Shado CMS functionality. Packed with one-on-one assistance, participants will receive the knowledge and skills they require to be up and running as Shado CMS Editors.

Editor Training offers a 1 day course designed to bring first-time users up to speed with functionality. Packed with one-on-one assistance, participants will receive the knowledge and skills they require to be up and running as Editors.

Topics include:

Introduction to the content management interface
Using the site tree
Dealing with workflow
Working with the File Management System (FMS)
Modifying a Shado CMS site
