Solution
Shado CMS Content Management System.
Business Benefits
Cost effective site fully accessible to all constituents.
Challenge
A major consideration in the site's design was compliance with public sector e-government requirements. International in nature, these standards require the removal of impediments to online accessibility, in particular for the disabled. This includes ensuring site compatibility with voice recognition and Web-Braille software and the provision for text enlargement. Other quality aspects that can effect online accessibility such as the accuracy, timeliness & relevancy of content must also be considered .
E-government requirements both large and small had already been factored into Shado's development. In particular the need for flexibility and adaptability.
The ARC also sought to publish large volumes of public information in compliance with government e-guidelines, and to display all documents relating to Council activities that the public may be required to complete.
Solution
Shado CMS Content Management System.
Results
Internet. The ARC Internet site provides a portal for the citizens of Auckland to access thousands of pages of information on the city and its outlying areas.
Intranet. ARC has implemented a major Intranet which is fully accessible by visually impaired users.
