Straker Interactive is a leading global provider of web-based Content Management and Flex enabling software. It was formed by Grant Straker and Merryn Goble and commenced trading in 1999. Its flagship product suite Shado is a marketing enabling tool that enhances a company&##39;s online customer management and marketing activities. The Company was originally a software and services business, but sold its service business in 2006 to concentrate on being a pure software business and building its international markets. Straker has offices in Auckland, Sydney, San Francisco and Ireland with active clients across all major geographies.

Grant Straker - CEO

Grant Straker is a skilled web programmer with a background in mechanical engineering.  He founded Straker, a leading global provider of enterprise-wide web-based content management and portal software and services, in 1999.

After some changes in 2007 Grant has taken on the role of CEO  but is also the lead technical adviser on all of Straker's products, including the company's groundbreaking ShadoCMS and ZoomFlex. With a varied background and diverse interests,

Grant has a mix of skills that incorporates business experience and programming logic. It's from this unique perspective that Straker so successfully develops applications that use advanced programming skills to meet the needs of the customer. Grant spent six years in the British Army most of that as a Paratrooper, on returning to New Zealand Grant  completed his NZCE in Engineering.

Merryn Goble

Merryn is the currently General Manager of Straker Interactive and brings to her role a wide range of experience in many industries. Merryn's business management and planning skills have contributed greatly to the client-focused approach that drives the international success of Straker Interactive, and as such Merryn is closely involved in the market development of Straker in Europe, Australia as well as New Zealand. After completing a Bachelor of Management Studies at Waikato University (1992), majoring in Management and HR, Merryn started work at CLEAR Communications, where she undertook a variety of  administration, supervision and customer service roles. Following that experience, Merryn joined the pharmaceutical sector working as a Marketing Assistant before being promoted to a Product Manager position at Amcal Chemists.  While at Amcal, Merryn gained a Graduate Diploma in Marketing providing her with additional tertiary qualifications to support her role within the company. In January 2006 Merryn's role changed from CEO to General Manager to reflect the addition of her second child and the change in the amount and type of time that she will be able to put into Straker for 2007.

David Sowerby 

David is the General Manager for the EMEA region and is responsible for driving the development of this market for Straker. He has over 10 years experience in high end customer analytics and online marketing within both large corporates and small scale businesses.

David has proven experience in building businesses and has been directly responsible for growing a number of companies from both startup phase or as startup units within larger organisations. Davids exposure at a senior management level with some large organisations including Veda Advantage, BBDO and Unisys has seen him deal with management issues across the spectrum of client management, staff retention, business development and has led a number of large multi million dollar contract negotiations.

David has an Undergraduate Degree in Science from the University of Queensland, a Graduate Diploma in Management from CQU and a Masters of Business Administration from Trinity College Dublin.

NON EXECUTIVE DIRECTORS

Steve Donovan

Steve is a former partner of Ernst & Young. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant in the U.K in 1987. Steve acts as the Company's Finance director. Steve has been working with I.T businesses for the past ten years.
