AUCKLAND - 2 November 2007 - Straker Interactive is pleased to announce the award of a major contract from a Malaysian Government Ministry. The project, to be delivered by Straker's premier Malaysian partner Data Envelopment Analysis (www.dea.com.my), calls for the enterprise-wide installation of Shado Enterprise, Straker's flagship online content management solution, professional implementation services and training."This is an important win for us," says Grant Straker, founder and CEO of Straker Interactive, "as it represents a key sector in our expansion into the Asian marketplace. We are in the process of bringing on additional partners in the Pacific Rim and expect the region to perform well for us in the upcoming year. We've found that our multilingual capabilities are very well-received as Asian firms typically deal in two or more languages."
With offices in Auckland, Sydney, San Francisco and London, Straker Interactive is building an international reputation. "There is a huge demand for multilingual web content management," says Straker. "Our product is unique and the uptake has been exceptional. By working with local partners with local language skills, we have the ability to deliver rich interactive user experiences in a variety of scripts and dialects. In today's distributed economies, the potential is enormous."
Training is a significant component of the contract. "We'll be training staff from our partner company, Data Envelopment Analysis, as well as staff from the Malaysian Ministry," says Straker. "The project entails rebuilding their internet portal for both internal staff and the public. It is essential that we have local support for our solution and the training will not only fulfil this requirement but also help boost our joint sales in the future."
"Our partnership with Straker has helped us win a very important contract," says Ishak Bin Haji Hassan, Managing Director at Data Envelopment Analysis. "Their Shado Enterprise content management solution gives us the tools we need to support enterprise clients in the government sector. They have stringent requirements and the Straker solution gave us the winning edge."
The new Shado Enterprise-based portal for the Malaysia Ministry is expected to go live early in 2008.
